Forum: red and white

"Forum: red and white" is installation made on the street. Forum is the meeting place, where you can sit, talk or meditate. It has a symbolic meaning as a place of sharing thoughts and opinions, place to rest and talk, to meet other people and enjoy in their presence.
Forum is reminiscent to antique Roman Forum, with symbolic addition of red wedge, taken from Russian revolutionary art. Red and white corps of Forum represent different attitudes and provoke passengers with symbolism of forms and colors.
"Forum: red and white" was built for the first time in Belgrade in 1982, in the center of the city, where invited criticism, but was well accepted from passengers, who considered it to be part of urban structure.
Forum represents struggle against urbanization and turns to needs of pedestrians.


"Forum: red and white" brings a message of harmony between antique and modern arts, past and present times and harmony between opposite attitudes and thoughts. In the forms and colors of "Forum" there are united modern and antique, red and white, east and west, different social and cultural structures. It unites opposite attitudes and bring together people from different cultural, political, race and social structures. "Forum" is the meeting place, where are people brought together, in spite of their personal differences. Red and white are brought together, antique and modern are united in the forms of "Forum".
